UROC Critical Conversation: Reviving Ancestral Practices to Combat Mother and Baby Morbidity—5 p.m. Tuesday, December 10

Come Home and Rest in the Roots of Care:
Reviving Ancestral Practices to Combat Mother and Baby Morbidity

A UROC Critical Conversation
5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, December 10 at UROC

In 2022, UROC partnered with the Minneapolis-based Collective Action Lab, the Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center, the Native American Community Clinic, and Liberty Community Church Northside Healing Space to launch an initiative aimed at improving maternal health outcomes and advancing birth justice related issues in Hennepin County.

The initiative—called the Birth Justice Collaborative (BJC)—set out to engage communities in co-designing strategies designed to improve birth outcomes using community-based knowledge and wisdom.  This UROC Critical Conversation will showcase the BJC's five priority strategies that are already creating positive change.

The event is free and open to the public. Registration is requested, but not required.
