UROC hires Administrative Services Manager, appoints new Office Coordinator

Kara Schmidt has been named UROC’s Administrative Services Manager. Kara comes to the University of Minnesota with administrative, marketing, and strategic management experience in both private and public sectors, including oversight of human resources, budget, and finance divisions within the State of Minnesota. As Administrative Services Manager, Kara will provide leadership in the operation of UROC’s building and facility-related services, as well as management of UROC’s front desk staff and undergraduate and graduate student workers. Additionally, she will continue UROC’s mission-driven work related to internal and external contracts and vendors. 

Lea Scott has been promoted to the position of UROC Office Coordinator. Over the past year, Lea has performed her UROC front desk duties with exceptional skill and a friendly, yet professional manner. Her knowledge of UROC building operations, ability to troubleshoot, and attention she pays to the needs of University staff and community members makes her the ideal choice for leading UROC’s front desk management. In addition to working closely with Kara, Lea will continue to play a key role in UROC’s events and initiatives.
