UROC to host Minnesota Fifth Congressional Art Competition artwork, reception—Saturday, April 29 through Thursday, May 4

Works of art by high school students from Minnesota's Fifth Congressional District who participated in the national Congressional Arts Competition will be on display in the UROC gallery Saturday, April 29 though Thursday, May 4. 

The national competition has been held since 1982, selecting visual art from every U.S. House district for display in the U.S. Capitol for a year. The theme for this year’s Fifth District competition is Discovering Minnesota. The competition is open to students in grades 9 through 12. A public reception hosted by U.S. Representative Ilhan Omar in honor of the artists and their families will take place on Wednesday, May 3
