Three University of Minnesota graduate students have been named to the UROC Josie R. Johnson Engaged Dissertation Fellows Program. The program is designed for University graduate students who are developing as community engaged scholars, preparing for their dissertation research, and doing research for the public good.

A University-community selection committee has named the 2021 recipients of the UROC Research Agenda Grant Competition. Launched in September of 2020, the UROC Research Agenda is a framework for addressing themes that community members and University of Minnesota researchers and practitioners identified as being critical to a thriving North Minneapolis and Twin Cities urban core.

Co-sponsored by the University's Office for Public Engagement and Robert J. Jones Urban Research and Outreach-Engagement Center, the series' inaugural conversation will also feature IonE Executive Director Jessica Hellman.

UROC seeks University of Minnesota doctoral students for its community-engaged research fellow program. Program elements include work space at UROC with meeting space and wifi, a $500 professional development stipend, academic and partnership mentoring, and peer support.

UROC seeks proposals by University of Minnesota faculty to address the critical issues outlined in the UROC Research Agenda through collaborative, community-based research projects. The agenda and its annual annual grant competition aim to stimulate and guide collaborative research in the topic areas while improving outcomes through robust, long-term partnerships.
