UROC Community Day—3 to 7 p.m., Thursday, September 15

Celebrate the promise of partnership at UROC's annual Community Day open house with engaging displays, live music, food by local chefs, official UROC swag, and more. Visit with UROC's University researchers and their community partners, meet Goldy Gopher, and pick up some new summer reading courtesy of Goldy's new Little Free Library at UROC.

A special 4 p.m. program will honor the contributions of UROC’s past executive leaders and their commitment to partnership in a live presentation hosted by UROC Executive Director Makeda Zulu and University of Minnesota Executive Vice President and Provost Rachel Croson with guest North Community High School instructor and coach Mike Tate. Speakers include: Irma McClaurin, speaker, author and CEO, Irma McClaurin Solutions; Wokie Freeman-Gbogba, Senior Operations Officer, Youthprise; Geoffrey Maruyama, Professor, College of Education and Human Development, University of Minnesota; Heidi Barajas, Interim Associate Vice President for Public Engagement, University of Minnesota; Marilyn Higgins, speaker, author and President, Montario Inc.

The event is free and open to the public.
