UROC to host Minnesota Fifth District Congressional Art Competition artwork, reception—April 21 through 30

Works of art by high school students from Minnesota's Fifth Congressional District who participated in the national Congressional Arts Competition will be on display in the UROC gallery April 21 through 30.

The national competition has been held since 1982, selecting visual art from every U.S. House district for display in the U.S. Capitol for a year. The theme for this year’s Fifth District competition is "North Star State of Mind."  The competition is open to students in grades 9 through 12.

A public reception in honor of the artists and their families will take place at 6 p.m., Tuesday, April 22.
