Researching disparities in education, economic development, health and wellness, and family, culture, and spirituality between the African American community and other sectors of the Twin Cities is the focus of the African American Leadership Forum.

Culturally Tailored Modern Family Medical History Tool≈
The goal of this project is to learn from community members about strategies and preferences for developing family health histories. Family health histories are becoming increasingly important in order to take advantage of advances in precision medicine.

Family Business Success in the Black Community*
The goal of this partnership is to increase knowledge of best practices in family business management and succession planning, particularly in the black community. Project partners include University of Minnesota Urban Research and Outreach-Engagement Center, Metropolitan Economic Development Association, Neighborhood Development Center, Northside Economic Opportunity Network, and the University of St. Thomas Family Business Center.

Growing North Minneapolis is a community-driven collaboration with the University of Minnesota, which focuses on youth and their communities. Through intergenerational mentorship and urban agriculture, we advance environmental, social, and racial justice in North Minneapolis.

Hennepin Healthcare Pediatric Mobile Clinic: Promoting Vaccine Confidence in the Community≈
The Pediatric Mobile Health team provides pediatric healthcare to families who are hesitant and/or unable to come to our clinics or hospital. We meet families where they are to provide vaccines, as well as child check-ups and other basic healthcare services.

IGDI APEL (Spanish)^
The University's Educational Psychology’s IGDI Lab aims to expand the suite of psychometrically robust measures for Spanish-speaking dual-language learners by developing and validating new measures for three-year olds. IGDIs are designed from an equity-based lens, have extensive evidence of psychometric rigor, and are instructionally relevant.

Leadership Minor^
The University’s Undergraduate Leadership Minor works with the Seeds to Harvest collaborative on a host of issues, focusing on youth literacy, voting registration, census completion, mask distributions, service projects, food deliveries, youth activities, and communications.

Prepare2Nspire^
A near-peer mathematics tutoring and mentoring program, the University’s Prepare2Nspire partners with community middle and high school students and their families to provide weekly mathematics tutoring and mentoring. The program builds confidence and prepares students for post-secondary mathematics study by supporting students in 8th-grade algebra through high school calculus.

Seeds to Harvest*
The collective work of Seeds to Harvest involves keeping five promises to children and youth that form the conditions they need to achieve adult success: that they will grow up with the help and guidance of caring adult relationships, healthy childhoods, safe surroundings, effective education, and opportunities to serve others.
