Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) "Clean Air For All" Pilot Project

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) "Clean Air For All" air monitoring pilot project is a collaboration with Dr. Alika Galloway, CEO of the 21st Century Academy; Dr. Brent Williams, Professor with UMN Department of Soil, Water, and Climate; Dr.’s Nathan Meyer and Kent Boyd of UMN’s Climate Adaptation Partnership, and Teddie Potter, UMN School of Nursing Professor and a community-engaged research expert.  Makeda Zulu, Senior Director of Community Partnerships is serving as the Principle Investigator for the Minnesota Pollution and Control Agency funded initiative.
This team came together to answer a critical question: How could they help communities facing environmental injustice protect themselves from polluted air through self-monitoring? They focused on, "What can we learn together that will lead to actionable results?" The pilot was designed to combine air monitoring with education, laying the groundwork for future community-led efforts.
